Associated Air Move to New Facility at Heathrow
Starting as an express courier company back in 1987 the industry has changed a lot over the last 30 years. As a progressive and forward thinking business we launched AAS Fulfilment last year to diversify and deliver on our growth plans.
Following the introduction of eCommerce Fulfilment and warehousing logistics we’re happy to announce that the success of the service has seen it rapidly become a core service; so much, in fact, that due to the success of AAS Fulfilment we will be moving to a significantly larger, purpose built and band new facility.
AAS is based at Heathrow Airport – one of the World’s busiest airports and a vital hub for the freight sector.
Our consolidation in a new, larger facility coincides with Heathrow airport’s own plans to improve and expand their facilities (including the addition of a third runway) aimed at increasing their volume of freight to 3 million tonnes by the year 2040, positioning Heathrow as one of Europe’s most competitive airports for freight.
AAS is currently operating with our resources spread between two sites; we have realised that reuniting under one roof will increase our efficiency and give AAS a competitive edge, allowing us to grow and move forward as one group.
As part of our project at our new premises we will be erecting a 1000sq ft mezzanine floor to provide even more space as well as taking advantage of the move to update technology and make improvements to our layout that will translate into an improved workflow and better functionality.
But the best news is that we will be able to retain our most valuable asset: our team. We are lucky to count on a fantastic team of dedicated staff who have all decided to move with us ensuring a sense of continuity to our clients during our transition.
With our team all under one roof, new and improved facilities and better communication and work flow, we’ll be pooling resources to allow us to develop our services and provide our clients with even greater flexibility.
